Mission Money is a new debit card and free app brought to you by Mission Lane. Just sign up and fund your account to get started. 

If I sign-up for a Mission Money account, will I get approved for a Mission Lane credit card?

No, signing up for Mission Money doesn’t result in approval for a Mission Lane Visa® Credit Card.

You can download the Mission Money app for free from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store

Signing Up for Mission Money

How do I sign up for a Mission Money account?

To get started with Mission Money, download the Money app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store

Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it up and follow the instructions to get started.

What does a Mission Money account cost? 

  • No minimum balance fees
  • No transfer fees for moving money into and from your Mission Money account
  • No fees to access to our support teams online or by phone
  • No inactivity fee
  • No in-network ATM surcharge-fees at over 55,000 locations nationwide
  • No ATM balance inquiry fee

Does signing up for Mission Money affect my credit score?

No, since Mission Money is a debit card, we do not pull any hard inquiries on your credit score or report your card activity to the credit bureaus. You can use your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card to help your credit score by using this card to pay your credit cards bills on time.

Updating Your Personal Information

How can I update the name on my Mission Money account?

First, make a copy of any one of the following documents that shows your new or updated name.

  • Marriage certificate
  • Unexpired driver's license (all corners visible)
  • Unexpired state ID (all corners visible)

Write your request, including the following with your message:

  • The name your changing from (current name)
  • The name you’re changing to (new name)
  • The document you copied that shows your new name

How can I update the address on my Mission Money account?

If your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card isn’t activated yet, first, scan or take a picture of any one of the following documents that shows your new address.

  • Unexpired driver's license (all corners visible)
  • Unexpired state ID (all corners visible)
  • Recent bank statement (within 60 days)
  • Recent utility bill (within 60 days)
  • Current rental agreement (cover and signature pages)
  • Current Mortgage Statement
  • Current Insurance Statement

Write your request, including the following with your message:

  • The address your changing from (current address)
  • The address you’re changing to (new address)
  • The document you copied that shows your new address

How does my digital card work?

Your digital Mission Money Visa® Debit Card can be used anywhere online where you would use a physical debit card. Just use the card number, expiration date, CVV and address or zip code as requested by the merchant when you’re making a payment. 

When will my card arrive?

Your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card should arrive via USPS within 3–8 days of processing and approving your application. You can check the status of your new card by selecting Visa® in your navigation menu.

I just got my new Mission Money Visa® Debit Card in the mail. How do I activate it?

There are two ways to activate your new Mission Money Visa® Debit Card:

In the Mission Money App

  • Open up the Mission Money app
  • Select Visa® in your navigation menu
  • Then select Activate Card and you’re all set!

By Phone

  • Call (855) 791-2488
  • Follow the instructions provided (you may need to have your new card with you)

I still haven't received my card. What should I do?

Your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card should arrive via USPS within 3–8 days of processing and approving your application. You can check the status of your new card by selecting Visa® in your app’s navigation menu.

If you want to confirm what address the card is being shipped to, select More in your navigation menu, then Profile. If you need help updating this address, please email [email protected]

If the address is correct and it’s been more than 8 days since your application was approved, you can order a new card:

  • Select Visa® in your navigation menu
  • Then select Cards
  • Go to Report Lost, Stolen or Damaged
  • Submit your request for a new card by following the instructions on your screen

Funding Your Mission Money Account

How do I fund my Mission Money account?

You can transfer money to your Mission Money account a few different ways:

In the Mission Money app

To set up a transfer within the Mission Money app:

  • Select Deposits
  • Then select Add Cash
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to connect to our external account and set up your transfer into your Mission Money account

Through your external bank account’s website

First, get your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card account and routing numbers:

  • Select Visa
  • Then select Direct Deposit
  • Capture your account and routing numbers somewhere secure

Then, head over to your external bank account’s website. Use your Mission Money account and routing numbers when setting up the transfer to an external account. 

Through PayPal, Venmo or Apple Cash

Yes, follow the instructions on their site or app to get your transfer started. You may also have the option to send an instant transfer through PayPal or Venmo, but they may charge you a fee for this. 

How long does it take a transfer to arrive in my Mission Money account?

Transferring money from an external bank to your Mission Money account usually takes about 3–4 business days. For example, if you start the transfer on Wednesday, the money should be available by Tuesday the following week.

Can I set up automatic transfers into my Mission Money account?

Yes, you can set up an automatic reload into your Mission Money account based on two different criteria:

  • Low Balance: Set up an automatic transfer to your Mission Money account when your balance lowers to a certain amount.
  • Specific Date: Set your automatic transfer based on a recurring schedule, like on the 1st of every month. 

To set up an automatic reload into your Mission Money account:

  • Select Visa® in your navigation menu
  • Then select Deposits
  • Go to Auto Reloads
  • Set up your automatic transfer by following the instructions on your screen

I don't see my bank listed for a transfer in the Mission Money app. What can I do?

If your bank isn’t listed, you can use your Mission Money account and routing numbers to initiate transfers directly from your external bank account:

First, get your Mission Money account and routing numbers:

  • Select Visa
  • Then select Direct Deposit
  • Capture your account and routing numbers somewhere secure

Then, head over to your external bank account’s website. Use your Mission Money account and routing numbers when setting up the transfer to an external account. 

Can I use PayPay, Venmo or Apple Cash to transfer money to my Mission Money account?

Yes, you can transfer money from your PayPal, Venmo or Apple Cash account by entering your Mission Money card number or account and routing numbers. Follow the instructions on their site or app to get your transfer started. 

You may also have the option to send an instant transfer through PayPal or Venmo, but they may charge you a fee for this. 

Can I deposit cash into my Mission Money account through an ATM or retail store?

No, for now we can’t accept cash deposits into your Mission Money account.

How do I set up a direct deposit to my Mission Money account?

There are two ways to set up your direct deposit:

Automatically Update Payroll

  • Select Payroll
  • Then select Start, then select Continue
  • Select or search for your employer/payroll provider
  • Enter your payroll system's username and password
  • Select the percentage of your direct deposit you want to allocate to your Mission Money account
  • Select Finish

You’ll start receiving your direct deposit in your Mission Money account within 1–2 pay cycles.

Email Yourself a Direct Deposit Form

  • Select Visa
  • Then select Direct Deposit
  • Email yourself a direct deposit form and share that with your employer. 

Can I transfer money out of my Mission Money account to an external bank account?

Yes, you can transfer money out of your Mission Money account. You’ll need to set it up through your external bank account.

How do I use my Mission Money account to pay recurring bills?

Depending on what payments your service provider accepts, you have two options for using your Mission Money account:

Pay with your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card

Use your debit card number directly with the service provider. They may also ask for the card expiration date, CVV, and your zip code. 

Pay with your account and routing numbers

If a service provider requests your account and routing numbers, you can find those in your Mission Money app: 

  • Select Visa
  • Then select Direct Deposit
  • Capture your account and routing numbers somewhere secure

Can I add my Mission Money Visa® Debit Card to my digital wallet through Apple or Google?

No, for now your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card isn’t available on digital wallets. 

Are there any transaction limits on my Mission Money account?

Yes, you can’t spend or take out more money than you have in the account (there’s no overdraft on your account).

Here’s a more detailed list of the transaction limits from our Cardholder Agreement:

  • Your ATM or cash back limit is $250 per transaction, $1,000 per day and $1,250 per month
  • Your daily spend limit is $10,000
  • Your transaction spend limit is $7,000
  • Your monthly spend limit is $25,000
  • Your maximum account balance limit is $25,000
  • Your maximum transfer limit into your account is $7,000 in a 24-hour period
  • We may also enact temporary limits or restrict ATM access to keep your account secure

Can I use my Mission Money Visa® Debit Card to withdraw cash from an ATM?

Yes, you have surcharge-free access to over 55,000 in-network ATMs in our network across the U.S.

Select ATM in the app to find your closest in-network location.

There is a $2.50 out-of-network ATM fee. Additionally, if you use an out-of-network ATM, it may charge you an additional fee. 

ATM and cash back transaction limits reset on the first of every month:

  • $250 per transaction
  • $1,000 per day
  • $1,250 per month

Can I use my Mission Money Visa® Debit Card outside the U.S.?

Yes, your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card should work in most countries outside of the U.S. Email us at [email protected] if you’d like to check on the status of an international location before your departure. 

How do I dispute a recent transaction?

If you think there’s a mistake with a charge on your account, please email [email protected] with the following information:

  • The transaction date
  • The transaction amount
  • The transaction description
  • And, if you have it, the receipt for the transaction

I don't recognize a transaction. What should I do?

As soon as you spot an unrecognized transaction, contact us right away:

How can I access a bank statement for my Mission Money account?

For now, if you need a bank statement for your Mission Money account email [email protected]. Please include the month(s) for which you need a statement.

I can’t make online purchases with my Mission Money Visa® Debit Card. What should I do?

First, check to make sure you’re entering the correct billing address or zip code associated with your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card and try again. 

To check your account address information:

How does Mission Lane secure my information?

Your information is securely encrypted in 256 bits, both in transit and in storage. 

How secure is the sign-in information I store in my Mission Money account?

When you enter your bank’s username and password, they are stored securely in a separate database operated by our partner, Plaid Technologies, where they use multi-layered hardware and software encryption. Plaid works with thousands of trusted companies and products, and they only store the data needed to keep your finances up-to-date automatically, saving you the hassle of signing in every time or manually adding information. 

How should I secure my account?

When you activate your Mission Money account, we require that you verify your phone number. We also strongly recommend you enable the following security features in your Mission Money app to keep your account secure:

  • Set a strong password
  • Turn on fingerprint or facial recognition

We also recommend you follow these tips when creating your PIN and using your card:

  • Don’t use numbers or words that appear in your wallet, like your birthday or address
  • Don’t use part of your social security number
  • Memorize your PIN and don’t share it with anyone
  • Don’t write your PIN on your card, or keep it written down in the same location as your card
  • Treat your card with the same security and care you treat cash
  • Protect your card and keep it in a safe place 
  • Don’t send your card number in an email or text message
  • When using your card online, make sure the website is secure with a valid certificate (you’ll see a padlock icon next to the URL in your browser)

How do I lock and unlock my Mission Money Visa® Debit Card?

Locking your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card temporarily restricts your card, which may be helpful if you ever misplace it but aren’t ready to report it as lost or stolen. 

To lock or unlock your Mission Money Visa® Debit Card:

  • Select Visa® in your navigation menu
  • Then select Cards
  • Toggle Lock Card to lock or unlock you card

How do I report my Mission Money Visa® Debit Card as lost or stolen?

  • Submit your request for a new card by following the instructions on your screen
